Dr Rachel Walker holds a conjoint appointment as a Senior Research Fellow with the School of Nursing and Midwifery Griffith University and the Division of Surgery Princess Alexandra Hospital. She is an active member of two groups within the Menzies Health Institute Queensland; Patient-Centred Health Service and, Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research within the Healthcare Practice and Survivorship program. Dr Walker’s research focuses on two key areas: 1) skin integrity related to pressure injury prevention and treatment and vascular access, and; 2) digital health technology and innovation. She has undertaken a meta and Cochrane Reviews of evidence on pressure injury and treatment for dissemination to a global audience of researchers, clinicians and policy-makers. She also led the small working group reviewing device related pressure injuries for the 2019 update of the EPUAP/NPIAP/PPPIA Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Injuries.
